Summer programs for kids and adults offered at Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority

LEWISBURG — The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority has announce several programs this summer for the whole family. In addition to these new programs, the regular activities are still available for participation.

Nature’s Cool Mini Camp, ages 3 to 5 — Ten themed weeks of nature camps for younger campers. This outdoor classroom features learning, play and adventures with trained staff.

Mini Sports Camps, ages 3 to 10 — Throughout the summer BVRA will be having several mini sports camps which include track (July 12, 19, 26); soccer (July 16-18); net sports (July 23-25); and Frisbee (August 5, 7, 8). Children will develop and improve skills during in activities, drills and games.

Bison Field Hockey Mini Camp — Geared towards youngest players and newcomers to the sport and campers who want to better their skills and have fun. Camp sessions will run June 24 to 26 and July 29 to 31.

Adventure Camp, 10 and up — A variety of thematic camps (art, stopmotion storytime, sports statistics, 3D printing and coding, kayaking, martial arts, and ninjAction) will be held Monday to Friday for half the day.

Flip into Summer Gymnastics camp — Designed for beginners new gymnasts interested in learning, there will be games, strength training, obstacle courses and basic gymnastics from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 to 16.

NinjAction Camp —

This camp will touch on gymnastics, parkour, martial arts, rock climbing and the fundamental strength training to accomplish the challenges. This camp will be located at the BVRA Gymnastics facility from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 to 16. One day at the Milton Rock Gym.

Let’s Hear It For The Boys! — Recreational or competitive gymnastics gives boys a chance to develop upper body strength and agility.

Diving Lessons, all ages — The Lewisburg Community Pool will host Diving Lessons with Susquehanna University diving coach Josh Powell. Learn the fundamentals of diving in a safe fashion. There will be beginner, intermediate or advanced divers classes. There will be an Intro to Diving at 11 a.m. July 6 for a cost.
