Lycoming County Special Olympics holds annual bowling competition

The 31st annual Lycoming County Special Olympics bowling competition was held at Faxon Lanes where 62 athletes and their Unified Partners participated in singles, Unified Doubles and Unified Team sporting events. The athletes had been training over 10 weeks to prepare for the competition.

Athletes were placed into divisions based on their averages.

Individuals receiving gold medals for their first place finishes were Andrew Butters, Matt Guglielmo, Bennett Hubler, Jordan Fisher, Brad Schefsky, Chris Boyce, Braeden Schell, Cynthia Arce, Dale Pidcoe, Nate Thomas, Jeremiah Clark, Nate Koon, Narcissa Ebner, Richie Dibble, Frank Confer, Jake and Kyle Powell, Lester Loner, Sean Loner, Byron Diemer and Anthony Moyer.

All athletes and their partners, meeting all requirements, had their names placed into a random drawing for selection to compete in Central Sectional event on Jan. 19, 2020. This competition will take place at various lanes in the Harrisburg area and serves as a qualifying event for the Pennsylvania State Special Olympics Bowling Competition scheduled to be held in York in March.
