Brown Library offers entertaining, life-enriching programs for adults

The James V. Brown Library has several upcoming programs designed to offer the lifelong learning needs of adults in the community. From cooking, to creating, to chatting about books and learning about local history, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Programs include:

Jan. 20 — Classics Book Club, “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith, 10:30 a.m.

Jan. 21 — HOPE story time, 10:30 a.m.

Jan. 21 — Cookbook Club, sumptuous soups and breads, noon.

Jan. 22 — Lycoming Audubon Society, Yellowstone, 6 p.m.

Jan. 24 — Crafternoon Adult DIY, teacup candles, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jan. 28 — Plan your digital marketing calendar with Jerry Frear, 6 p.m.

Tuesdays in February and March — Chair yoga with Alicia Koch, noon.

Feb. 3 — Facebook 101 for adults, 1:30 a.m.

Feb. 10 — Crafternoon Adult DIY, puzzle wreaths and hearts, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Feb. 17 — Classics Book Club, “1984” by George Orwell, 10:30 a.m.

Feb. 18 — HOPE adult story time, 10:30 a.m.

Feb. 18 — Cookbook Club, Tasty tapas, noon.

Feb. 25 — “You’ve Been Booked” Adult book club: “Women Rowing North” by Mary Pipher, 11:45 a.m.

Feb. 26 — Lycoming Audubon Society, Climate change and raptors 6 p.m.

March 4 — Williamsport: Past and Present by Elaine Decker, 6 p.m.

March 5 — Raise the Region marketing tactics with Jerry Frear, 6 p.m.

March 16 — Classics Book Club, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, 10:30 a.m.

March 17 — HOPE adult story time, 10:30 a.m.

March 17 — Cookbook Club, Foods from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, noon.

March 26 — Lycoming Audubon Society meeting, Animal tracks, scat and sign in Pennsylvania and California, 6 p.m.

March 30 — John Maietta, Ancient Greece Part 1, 6 p.m.

March 31 — “You’ve Been Booked” adult book club: “Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson, 11:45 a.m.

Don’t forget to check out the ongoing programs such as Informal Bridge Gathering on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; Needles and Yarns from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursdays; and the Write Now community open writing sessions at 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.

No registration is required for adult programs.
