Blossburg native turns 100

February’s birthday centennial celebrations

Thomas Jessup, of Blossburg, celebrated his 100th birthday on Feb. 4. He was born in 1920. There was a birthday celebration at the Kiwanis building at Island Park, Blossburg, on Feb. 2.

He was in the in the U.S. Army and Air Force from 1942 to 1946 during World War II in Belguim and Germany. He enjoys playing cards, bingo and visiting family and friends. He has many friends and relatives in Blossburg and is a member of St. Mary’s Church, the VFW Post, American Legion in Morris Run, the Arnot Sportsman Club and the Blossburg Rod and Gun Club.

He married Martha Manikowski on May 4, 1943. He is the father of the late Eugene Thomas Jessup.
