City couple’s grandson achieves rank of Eagle Scout
Grandson of William and Ruth Correll, of Williamsport, Alexander W. Correll, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the son of Bill and Joyce Correll, all of Mount Airy, Maryland. His Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held on Feb. 23 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Mount Airy. Bill, a native of Williamsport, is a graduate from Loyalsock Township High School.
During his Eagle Scout project he worked with the Mount Airy Net, a food pantry. The Eagle Scout designed and built a custom Food Pantry donation cart for food donations. Previously, donations were left in the vestibule of the church on the floor and Alexander felt as though a more secure, clean drop-off was needed.
Beginning his scouting career in first grade as a Cub Scout he earned his Arrow of Light Award and crossed over to Boy Scouts and worked his way up to Eagle before his 18th birthday. Alexander earned 43 merit badges. He has served as a senior patrol leader, quartermaster and assistant patrol leader. He earned two bronze, one silver and one gold palm before he earned the rank of Eagle. Alexander also has enjoyed being a troop guide to younger scouts, attending Philmont and Sea Base high adventures and his many years of summer camps.
Alexander plans on attending college in the fall.
