March book review luncheon

Friends of the Brown Library

Amanda Emig will present the March book review program on “The Talent Code: Greatness Isn’t Born, It’s Grown, Here’s How,” by Daniel Coyle. The luncheon will start at noon in the Lowry Room of the Welch Family Wing of the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport. Those who wish may purchase lunch at noon.

Coyle is a journalist and bestselling author. In this groundbreaking work, he explores the secret of talent and the tools to unlock it. This scientific concept draws on optimizing performance in sports, art, music, math or just about anything using three key elements to build myelin in the brain.

As an artist, Emig believes that her 30 years of artistic experience has been cultivated and nourished not only by talent, but also by practice — a lot of practice. She has worked in the field of graphic design at Rodale Press, Brodart Company, Lessig Group, James V. Brown Library and now owns and operates her own graphic design and printing company, Copi, LLC. Emig holds a bachelor of fine arts in communication design from Kutztown University and a masters in education. She has taught as an adjunct instructor for the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

To reserve lunch, call Leslie at the library at 570-326-0536, ext. 134. Reservations should be made by Wednesday, March 4. You should register only if you wish to reserve lunch. You may bring your own lunch or simply attend the book review, which will start at 12:30 p.m.

Parking is available in the public lot off Market Street, adjacent to the Welch Wing.
