The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., received a $2,500 grant from the PPL Foundation.
These funds will support the library’s Summer Learning 2020 Program as part of PPL’s Cover to Cover initiative to improve child literacy. The PPL Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process.
Through strategic partnerships, the PPL Foundation supports organizations working to create vibrant, sustainable communities; promote diversity, equity and inclusion; and empower each citizen to fulfill her or his potential.

The Brown Library is part of a national “Libraries Transform” effort to increase awareness of the changing role of libraries and the ways in which libraries are transforming to meet the information needs of their users.
The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, is the place to go to learn, connect and grow. Founded in June 1907, the library champions the love of reading, opens new doors to lifelong learning, provides a haven to those who seek and ensures the preservation of public library services for future generations.
