Konkle Library enters Stage 3 in reopening to the public
MONTOURSVILLE — The W.B. Konkle Memorial Library, following the guidance and framework provided by the CDC and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, has added another service for its patrons.
The library will allow patrons to browse the collection, including the Children’s Room, for 30 minutes by appointment only. The service is limited to three patrons at a time.
Three computers are available for patron use for one hour on a first come, first served basis or by calling the library at 570-368-1840 for an appointment.
To insure the health and safety of patrons and staff, masks are required to enter the library and social distancing must be maintained. Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the library for use before and after browsing the materials and using the computers. Plexiglass shields have been installed at the circulation desk.
Holds can be picked up at the circulation desk. To maintain social distancing, two patrons at a time may pick up holds. Holds may be placed online or by calling the library. Patrons will be notified when their holds are ready for pickup.
Printing, copy and fax services are also available.
Materials must be returned in the book and DVD drops and will continue to be quarantined for 72 hours.
The summer reading program, “Imagine Your Story,” started on June 15. The library is offering virtual programs, “Page Turner Adventures,” and stories and activities with Miss. Christine for children ages 3 to 12 years. Register online to log books and earn virtual tickets for prize drawings.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling the library, 570-368-1840. Patrons can enter the library through the front door.
