Group sponsors summer children’s programs
This summer there will be three children focused events sponsored by the Clinton County Historical Society and underwritten with a grant from the Clinton County Community Foundation.
• The first program is “History Time Henry,” an interactive adventure for children age 7 and up, at Riverview Park on June 12 at 1 p.m. History Time Henry and his assistant Geography George will lead you through American history from the Revolution to the Space Age with songs and skits. Children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
• The second program is History Camp, “Building America via Clinton County,” from July 26 through July 30, 9 a.m. to noon at the Heisey House Museum grounds for third through fifth graders. Each day has a different theme with a “Party at the White House” on the final day. Enrollment is limited to 25 children and the registration form in on the www.clintonpahistory.org website.
• The last program is a PA Heritage Program presented by Van Wagner, songwriter, educator and historian on August 5 at 5 p.m. during the Clinton County Fair. The canal and logging heritage of the Susquehanna River will be told through song, story and demonstration of historic tools to include building a raft. This is a program for the whole family.
