The Meadows schedules senior seminar series
The Meadows, A Park Home Personal Care Community, will host a Senior Seminar Series at their community located at 2160 Warrensville Road in Montoursville. The seminars will be geared toward the senior population and those that care for them. Depending on the topic, the seminar format may include lecture, question and answer time, screenings and risk assessments. The topics will vary and may include mental and physical health, fitness and beauty, finance, legal issues and end-of-life issues. All seminars are free and open to residents, families and the public.
The three upcoming seminars are:
• Balance and Fall Prevention — 10-11 a.m. March 22, presented by Vicki Y. Shimko
Learn about the causes of falls, discover your risk for falling, learn ways to improve your balance and coordination and get tips to reduce and prevent future trips and falls. Includes a balance screening
• Essential oils 101 — 10-11 a.m. April 26, presented by Suzan Ecker, registered nurse.
Discover the benefits and uses of essential oils. Could they are your path to lifelong emotional and physical wellness.
• What really matters in the end — 10-11 a.m. May 10, presented by Dr. Alexander R. Nesbitt, medical director, UPMC Susquehanna Hospice and Palliative Care.
