Lycoming College to host public screening of Moore documentary

The public is invited to enjoy Michael Moore’s latest documentary, “Where To Invade Next,” which explores solutions to some of America’s most entrenched social issues that we can learn from other nations. The free film will be shown at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St.

In “Where to Invade Next,” Moore, the creator of “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “Bowling for Columbine,” examines issues such as economic inequality, food justice, labor rights, educational access and drug policy. In the film, the audience follows Moore as he “invades” various countries whose ideas and practices he believes are better than ours and suggests these solutions be used in the United States.

As he documents various examples of foreign social policy, he realizes that American ideals exist in every country and are often better protected. The film thus serves to challenge audiences on ways to solve some of the nation’s most pressing issues.
