Graphic design faculty exhibits art in Lithuania

Six wood engravings created by David Moyer, assistant professor graphic design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, captured the first place prize in an exhibition at the Vilnius Graphic Art Center in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The exhibition, the 10th International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms Vilnius 2020, was on display March 10 through April 4.

Moyer’s wood engravings are small, labor-intensive works, measuring 5 by 7 inches, each taking about 80 hours to create. The works will eventually become part of a special edition artist book.

This is the fifth time the Penn College faculty member has had artwork exhibited in Lithuania. Other international exhibitions to accept his work have been in Poland and England; Moyer also exhibits nationally.

Moyer received a master of fine arts from Maryland Institute College of Art and a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Delaware. His professional organizations include the Society of Wood Engravers, the Wood Engravers’ Network and Fine Press Book Association.
