Williamsport Symphony Orchestra online-only until 2021

The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra is “cautiously happy to share” that the symphony’s season will start in 2021. The full schedule will be announced soon.

“We miss you! We miss making music! We miss the thrill leading to the concert and afterward,” a statement from the leaders of the orchestra emailed Wednesday said. “In the meantime, we will be in touch virtually. A series of previously recorded pieces will be shared on social media every Thursday,” starting Sept. 3.

Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” concert will be available on the symphony’s YouTube channel soon. Short performances by orchestra musicians and other projects that the maestro is working on will be posted regularly.

The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra encourages fans to “like” the symphony on Facebook, “follow” on Instagram and “subscribe” to its YouTube channel.

“We can’t wait to be with you in person and fill the Community Arts Center stage and theater with beautiful music,” the statement said.
