University offers digital play tonight

BLOOMSBURG — The formerly Celebrity Artist Series, having been redubbed “Arts in Bloom” on the Bloomsburg University campus, presents “The Screen Plays” as a ” digital experience.”

The BU Players will present three student-written plays tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Bloomsburg President Bashar Hanna, noting that the Pennsylvania State System is reviewing a possible integration between Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, and Bloomsburg University, extols the merits of “The Screen Plays: Dramatic Stories & Digital (Dis)connections.”

Student playwrights from Theatre and Creative Writing have penned one, two, or three character tales that take place in a video/digital environment (real or imagined).

The truthful circumstances of their environment make it necessary that their meaning is by way of digital screens.

The three plays will be acted by Bloomsburg University students, and directed by advanced directing students and faculty from the Division of Theatre and Dance.
