I’m Accepted. Belonging. We Are Rock Stars. Working Together.

These were some of the messages shared at the Beat-A-Thon Friday morning at the Williamsport Branch YMCA. The YMCA Superstars Program is a class for individuals with diverse abilities to be active, have fun, and make new friends. Diana Logan, founder of the program, started the class incorporating drums sticks and exercise balls into a fun movement class. The program started at the Eastern Lycoming Branch YMCA and recently expanded to the Williamsport Branch.

“We offer this program for free to our community,” explained Logan. “That way nobody is ever left out.”

The Beat-A-Thon is an event to raise awareness and funding for the Superstars Program, which is primarily funded through donations and grants. The class is held at the Williamsport Branch YMCA on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 – 11:45am and at the Eastern Lycoming Branch YMCA on Saturdays from 10:00 – 10:45am. For more information on the program contact the Williamsport Branch YMCA at 570-323-7134 or the Eastern Lycoming Branch YMCA at 570-546-8822. Find out more at www.rvrymca.org.
