Three repeat offenders charged with felony shoplifting

Lamar Frederick, 47, of Reading, who has been convicted seven times of shoplifting, faces yet another felony charge for allegedly stealing a bottle of whisky from Wines and Spirits, 1939 E. Third St., on Jan. 22, state police said. Currently jailed on a parole violation at a state prison, Frederick was arraigned before District Judge Gary Whiteman, who set bail in this case at $5,000.

Rose Hilburn, 52, of 141 E. Willow St., who also has seven shoplifting convictions, and Eric Wansley, 57, of 400 Lycoming St., apartment 205, who has four shoplifting convictions, have both been charged with felony retail theft after they was caught allegedly trying to steal $546 in merchandise from Wegmans, 201 William St., on the afternoon of Nov. 2, city police said. Following their arraignments before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley, the two were released on $5,000 bail each.
