Former nurse’s aide charged with theft
Joanna Marie Beck, 33, of Avis, has been charged with theft and furnishing false information in a document after allegedly stealing two oxycodone pills from the Promedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (the former Manor Care facility) at 1008 Thompson St. in Jersey Shore in mid-March, according to Tiadaghton Valley Region police. At the time, Beck was a nurse’s aide at the center, but has since been terminated, police said. She is alleged to have falsely recorded in a patient’s file that she administered two oxycodone pills to the patient, police said. She is free on $25,000 bail after waiving her preliminary hearing before District Judge Denise Dieter.
