Two injured minutes apart in separate Williamsport crashes

UPMC paramedics and Williamsport firefighters moved an injured male bicyclist to a stretcher after he was hit by a Acura TSX in the 600 block of West Third Street about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Williamport police said. When he was hit, the cyclist, who was taken to UPMC Williamsport, was traveling the wrong way on West Third Street, traveling west in an area of the street that is one-way eastbound, police said. A few minutes before, the front right wheel assembly of this Chevrolet Malibu was completely dislodged when the car and a Ford Escape collided at West Third and Park streets about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday. While the woman driving the Malibu was not hurt, the man driving the Escape was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to be treated for injuries suffered in the crash, according to Williamsport police.
