Six charged with DUI
State police stopped 35-year-old Steven Rodney Brunson, of 718 Second Ave., after his 2011 Ford Mustang failed to come to a complete stop at several stop signs along Hepburn Street at 2:30 a.m. on March 16.
Brunson had an odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes with dilated pupils and a vape pen he identified as containing “bohemian hash,” police allege.
He failed a field sobriety test, had a BAC of .19 and lab results were positive for the presence of THC.
Brunson was charged with DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, four summary offenses and waived his preliminary hearing.
In another case, Nicolas Gio Greenthaner, 22, of Saint Marys, was stopped by state police after his 2017 Hyundai Elantra failed to stop at a flashing red traffic light at Pine and East Third streets, before turning west onto East Third Street, a one-way for eastbound traffic only.
An odor of alcohol was detected from the vehicle, and Greenthaner had glassy, bloodshot eyes, police allege.
He stated he had consumed two or three beers at a local establishment prior to driving, court documents said.
Greenthaner failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .10.
He was charged with DUI, four summary offenses and waived his preliminary hearing.
In another case, at 1 a.m. on Dec. 6, 22-year-old Brian William Brown, of Dresher, was stopped by state police after his 2005 Ford F-150XLT crossed over the center line while turning from Conrail Railroad onto Maynard Street, and failed to use his turn signal while making a turn onto Second Street.
Brown had an odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes and it appeared he had urinated in his pants, police allege.
Through slurred, thick speech, he related that he had consumed four beers at a South Williamsport establishment prior to driving, court documents said. Additionally, an open container of liquor was located on the front passenger seat.
Brown failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .25.
He was charged with DUI, four summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000.
In another case, state police stopped Nakeba Adwoa Konadu, 22, of 1 College Place #458, after they observed her 2019 Nissan Sentra traveling near Market and Fourth street without its headlights activated at 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 16.
An odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle, and Konadu initially stated it was from her friends smoking in the car, however she later admitted to smoking earlier in the day, relating that she possessed a medical marijuana card, police allege.
Additionally, Konadu told police she had ingested marijuana edibles an hour prior to the stop, court documents said.
She failed a field sobriety test, and lab results were positive for the presence of THC.
Konadu was charged with DUI and a summary offense, waived her preliminary hearing, and was released on bail.
In another case, 43-year-old Troy Eric Love, of 601 George St., South Williamsport, was stopped by state police just after 1:30 a.m. on April 7, after her 2015 Subaru Outback crossed over several lane indicator lines while traveling along Interstate 180 East and Route 15 South.
Love had an odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes, and related that he was traveling from a Jersey Shore establishment, police said. He initially denied having consumed alcohol while there, before admitting he had two beers between 7 and 10 p.m.
He failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .12.
Love was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 26, state police arrested Gregory C. Fahien, 67, of 377 Fairfield Church Road, Montoursville, after they were dispatched to Bushy Ridge and Fairfield Church roads in Fairfield Township for a report of a female screaming for help as a 2020 GMC Sierra followed behind her.
The woman told police that she and Fahien had been drinking when an argument erupted, leading her to flee the residence, with Fahien in tow behind her, an affidavit said.
Fahien had a strong odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes, and admitted to having a “couple drinks” of liqueur prior to driving in an effort to get the woman back to the house, police allege.
He failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .13.
Fahien was charged with DUI, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
