Variety of charges go before district judges
Domestic disturbance results in criminal charges
Charges have been lodged against Damian Edward Colegrove, 42, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, after he punched his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend multiple times in the boyfriend’s apartment at 203 Wilson St. in Jersey Shore on Nov. 2, Lycoming Regional police alleged in court documents. The victim was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. Charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal trespassing, Colegrove has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Denise Dieter. The last charge stems from Colegrove allegedly refusing to leave the apartment after being told multiple times to do so, police said.
Linden area teen charged with theft
Joshua Tra Harvey, 19, of 65 Smith Court Circle, Linden, has been charged with misdemeanor theft for allegedly stealing $46 worth of tools from the Jersey Shore Area Senior High School automotive technology department in early November, Lycoming Regional police said. The teen’s parents found the stolen items in the family’s home on Nov. 6 and returned them to the school that day, police said, adding that Harvey has admitted to the theft. He has been sent a summons to appear before Dieter.
Homeless man faces three set of charges
Wanted on at least two warrants, Daniel Eric Maurer managed to elude capture on Oct. 16, but he was nabbed days later by a city police officer who spotted him and chased after him 40 to 50 yards before the 40-year-old homeless man was captured, according to court records. Affidavits state that Mauer was wanted on a felony shoplifting charge filed by Montoursville police as well as a theft charge filed by city police. While no details were available regarding the shoplifting case, city police have accused Maurer of taking $500 from a Pennsylvania skills machine that did not belong to him at the Nittany Minit Market, 2300 W. Fourth St., on Aug. 22.
A third warrant, this one filed by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit, charges him with flight to avoid apprehension after he fled from a county detective while riding his bicycle. The detective was aware Maurer was a fugitive, but when Maurer saw the detective at West Fourth Street and Seventh Avenue in the city on Oct. 16., he took off, investigators alleged.
When the city police officer nabbed him on Oct. 23 and took him into custody, Maurer faced an additional felony charge of flight to avoid apprehension plus three counts of evading arrest. Arraigned before District Judge Denise Dieter, Maurer, who has since waived his preliminary hearing on all the charges, remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Initially jailed, Peterson, who has since waived her preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey, is free on $5,000 bail.

Chism has been charged with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, court records stated. The second charge stems from detectives seizing 12 grams of cocaine from his apartment while executing a search warrant on Nov. 22, court records stated. Arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, he remains in the county prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. Keller has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of a cellphone, and is incarcerated in lieu of $150,000 bail.
In another case being handled by the narcotics unit, Steven Arnold Long, 67, of 1648 Scott St., has been charged with conspiracy to possess methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at Campbell Street and Maynard Alley in the city on Aug. 22. He has since waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey and is free on $10,000 bail.
