Jersey Shore man faces felony sex charges

Believing he was communicating online with a 14-year-old girl, Bobby Gene George Jr., 24, of 1220 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, sent inappropriate photos of his private parts to her and invited her to come to his home to engage in sexual activities in mid-December, Lycoming Regional police alleged in an affidavit. Unbeknownst to him, George was actually communicating with a male who professes to be “a self-proclaimed child predator catcher,” police said. George has been charged with a total of nine felonies, including criminal solicitation to statutory sexual assault, criminal solicitation to unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal solicitation to corrupting the morals of a minor plus four counts of criminal attempt and one count of illegal use of communication device. He recently waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Denise Dieter and remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
