Williamsport woman jailed for allegedly assaulting neighbor

An argument over laundry in their building prompted Jessica May Artley 46, of 1209 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, to kick in her neighbor’s apartment door and assault the male tenant on March 23, city police alleged in an affidavit. Once she was in the man’s apartment, Artley punched him and scratched his face before hitting him in the head with a baking sheet, police alleged. She also used racial slurs during the attack, police said. Following her arraignment hours later before District Judge Denise Dieter on felony charges of burglary and trespassing as well misdemeanor ethnic intimidation, criminal mischief and harassment, Artley was jailed, but is now free on $15,000 bail. She has since waived her preliminary hearing.
