Charges dropped in two cases, guilty pleas accepted in two others in Lycoming County

In a plea agreement before District Judge William Solomon, Danny Joyner pled guilty last week to a summary offense of disorderly conduct after Lycoming Regional police agreed to withdraw misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault. The charges stem from Joyner, 54, of 675 Sixth Ave., assaulting a family member in the 1800 block of Lycoming Creek Road in Old Lycoming Township on Sept. 6. Joyner made arrangements to pay $473 in fines and court costs.

In another matter before Solomon, charges of simple assault and harassment were dropped last week against Jeffrey Hasselman, 48, of 2518 Waldman Drive, after the alleged victim in the case, a female family member, chose not to pursue prosecution. The charges stemmed from Hasselman allegedly throwing the woman to the ground in the 1200 block of Lafayette Parkway on Sept. 28, according to state police.

In a third recent case before the judge, Dean Weir was given credit for time served in the Lycoming County Prison after the 22-year-old homeless man pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana on Truman Street in Lewis Township on Sept 8. Jailed that night in lieu of $7,500 bail, Weir has since been released.

In another case, this one before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, due to insufficient evidence to pursue the case, state police dropped charges of intimidation of a witness as well as stalking and criminal mischief against Drew Patrick Housknecht, 42, of 118 N. Main St., Hughesville. The charges stemmed from Houseknecht’s alleged actions last month when he stalked and made intimidating remarks to a woman who he allegedly assaulted during a violent attack in Loyalsock Township on Aug. 1, police said.
