Lebanon Valley College student-athletes named to MAC Academic Honor Roll

ANNVILLE – A total of 109 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes have been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Local athletes honored include:

Connor Pierce, of Mifflinburg. Pierce, a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, is a member of the football team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science at The Valley.

Nicholas Scullin, of Winfield. Scullin, a graduate of Lewisburg Area High School, is a member of the men’s cross country team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in biology. Scullin placed in the top 50 at this year’s MAC championships.

Rachel Cummings, of Jersey Shore. Cummings, a graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School, is a member of the women’s soccer team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science. Cummings was selected for the MAC Commonweath All Conference Second Team.

Alexa Muffly, of Watsontown. Muffly, a graduate of Warrior Run High School, is a member of the women’s soccer team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science. Muffly was selected for the MAC Commonweath All Conference Second Team.

Johanna Garbrick, of Mill Hall. Garbrick, a graduate of Central Mountain High School, is a member of the women’s soccer team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science.

Megan Shaner, of Hughesville. Shaner, a graduate of Hughesville High School, is a member of the women’s soccer team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science.

The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.

In 2015-16, the MAC is allowing freshmen to be eligible for the conference academic honor roll for the first time.

The addition of freshmen allowed for a record 1,377 MAC student-athletes who competed in men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball to earn honor roll recognition.
