Pennsylvania high school students to perform at Lock Haven University
On Feb. 1, high schools across Pennsylvania hosted localized competitions of performances of Bard’s Monologues and sonnets for their respective schools. The winners of the competitions will compete at Lock Haven University from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, in Price Auditorium for the title of ESU Central PA Region Finalist.
Following the event, students and their families and coaches, ESU chapter board members and judges will be treated to a luncheon in Bentley.
The winner of the ESU Branch competition will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City for the national competition, regularly held at the world-renowned performing arts complex, Lincoln Center. The ESU national headquarters also provides this student with two days of educational and cultural activities. Past activities have included Broadway shows, acting workshops and visits to the William Shakespeare statue in Central Park.
The event is free and open to the public.
