Local PA SADD Conference to motivate teens for healthy lifestyles

The PA SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and the Lycoming County Health Improvement Coalition will hold the 29th annual spring SADD Conference. The SADD Conference will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 12 at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Field House.

Over 200 students, advisors, speakers and volunteers from 14 schools in Lycoming, Bradford, Clinton, Tioga and Sullivan counties will be attending the annual event.

This year’s theme is Empower, Engage, Mobilize, Change and throughout the day there will be presentations and activities to help teens make good choices in situations and circumstances confronting today’s young adults such as the ThinkFast Interactive game, Tobacco Prevention 101 and Jon Breeden, a motivational speaker from the Harrisburg are.

ThinkFast Interactive is a question and answer game where students are asked questions about drug and alcohol prevention and safe driving mixed with pop cultural questions as a way to engage and learn about drug and alcohol facts in a fun environment, said Felicity DeBacco Erni, of PA SADD.

Breeden will talk with the students about making good choices for themselves and how to achieve their next goals they want in life and moving onto their next goals, DeBacco Erni said.
