Three commencement ceremonies will be offered May 17 to 18 for the 950 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2019 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
All of the ceremonies will be held at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with more than 800 students expected to march.
At 3 p.m. May 17, a ceremony will be held for students from the School of Industrial, Computing and Engineering Technologies and the School of Sciences, Humanities and Visual Communications. The student speaker will be Hannah G. Maize, of Riverside, who will receive a bachelor’s degree in plastics and polymer engineering technology.
On May 18, two ceremonies are scheduled.
At 10 a.m. May 18, students from the School of Construction and Design Technologies and the School of Health Sciences will receive their degrees. The student speaker will be Lauren S. Herr, of Lititz, who will be awarded a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
At 1:30 p.m. May 18, a ceremony will be offered for students from the School of Business and Hospitality and the School of Transportation and Natural Resources Technologies. The student speaker will be David A. Gadalla, of Mechanicsburg, who will receive a bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance technology.
During the ceremonies, the college will present Distinguished Teaching Awards to Penn College faculty. In addition, Distinguished Alumnus Award, Humanitarian Award and Alumni Achievement Award honors will be presented.
Degrees will be conferred by president Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied on May 17 by Sen. Gene Yaw, chairman of the college’s Board of Directors, and on May 18 by Michael J. DiRaimo, a member of the board.
