Loyalsock Township grad receives 2019 Hafer Scholarship

At its June member luncheon, Lycoming County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees presented the 2019 Arlene B. Hafer Scholarship to recent Loyalsock Township High School graduate, Madison Fox, daughter of Todd and Lynn Fox.

The scholarship is named for Arlene B. Hafer, a longtime and beloved teacher and principal in the Williamsport Area School District, and a past president of LCCPASR.

Madison was active in the school and community. She was involved in varsity athletics, as well as, the Interact, SADD, Art and FBLA clubs. She was also her class vice president and homecoming queen.

She was a member of the National Honor Society and distinguished honor roll, as well as, a Division III and all-state athlete.

Madison will attend Mansfield University in the fall where she will major in secondary education with an emphasis in Spanish and, also, run track.
