Dominican Republic students ‘miss going to school,’ seeing family
WASD students interview kids across the world
Recently, we interviewed two children, David, 5, and Daniel, 8, of the Dominican Republic on their current situation. As an ice-breaker, we asked them what they like to do. David said that he likes to build with blocks, and Daniel said he likes to play Parcheesi.
To keep safe, they are staying home, washing their hands and taking baths. They reported that they miss seeing their grandmother and cousins. They said they miss going to school and doing their favorite subjects, which are math and art, even though they do enjoy sleeping in. They also said that their parents can’t go to work.
Even though they don’t know anybody with the coronavirus, it’s still affecting them. Let this just be a reminder that we’re all in the same boat.
