Lycoming College school earns top spot on Money’s Best Colleges list

Money Magazine has recognized Lycoming College as one of Best Value Colleges in the nation. Lycoming ranked #46 among 236 private colleges committed to need-based financial aid with enrollments less than 2500 students. This distinction follows Lycoming’s inclusion in the Princeton Review’s Best Value Colleges list, recognizing the College for receiving one of the country’s highest ROI rankings.

Money Magazine, an online publication covering personal finance topics such as insurance, investing, and family finance, states that its lists are designed to help families explore valuable, but affordable college options. The magazine develops its rankings using 24 data points organized into three categories: quality of education, affordability, and outcomes.

“We are pleased to be ranked highly among selective colleges on Money Magazine’s Best Value list. This ranking confirms what we are told by our students, parents, and alumni about our investments in academic programs, recruitment efforts, and scholarship offerings.” said Kent C. Trachte, president of Lycoming College. “Families appreciate Lycoming’s commitment to affordability, and students at Lycoming find great value in the strong culture of faculty mentorship, liberal arts curriculum, first-rate facilities, and unique model of career advising. We are pleased to be recognized by both the Princeton Review and Money Magazine as a high-value, affordable option for a first-rate college education.”

Lycoming College previously received top marks in other rankings, including U.S. News and World Report, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Monthly.
