UPMC’s Spirit of Women encourages women to focus on their health

Women from across the region recently joined UPMC’s Spirit of Women for a free, uplifting morning packed full of fitness, educational workshops and shopping at Clearstory at the Pajama Factory in Williamsport.

“We’re excited so many women in our community came out for a morning of fellowship, health and fun,” said Tonya Welshans, Spirit of Women coordinator at UPMC in the Susquehanna region. “Women often prioritize everything and everyone else in their lives and neglect their own health and wellbeing. The goal of our Spirit of Women program is to encourage women ages 18 to 54 play an active role in their health — through education, information, and support tailored to their needs.”

Spirit of Women membership is free and open to women ages 18 to 54. Membership provides insider access to free wellness screenings, special events, business discounts and educational presentations on women’s health topics throughout the year in Tioga, Lycoming and Clinton counties.
