Man accused of drug possession

When two state troopers took Jason James O’Neill into custody early Tuesday afternoon on a warrant charging him with allegedly having heroin in mid-April, the 41-year-old Galeton man had on him 20 additional bags of the controlled substance, according to court records.

O’Neill was arrested near High and Walnut streets about 1:15 p.m. on a warrant filed by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit, charging him with possessing heroin in the 500 block of Little League Boulevard on April 11.

Arraigned on the warrant before District Judge Allen P. Page III, O’Neill was placed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.

The next day, O’Neill was once again before Page. This time he was arraigned on a state police charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance for the heroin he was carrying on Tuesday. He was recommitted in lieu of an additional $10,000 bail.
