Man wanted in connection with overdose death

Old Lycoming Township police are asking the public’s help in locating fugitive Daniel Ray Peck, who allegedly purchased and supplied the heroin a 53-year-old Lock Haven man used before dying of an overdose.

Peck, 47, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and related offenses that stem from an incident in a mobile home at 1920 Green Ave. on June 1, township Police Chief Joseph Hope said.

On that morning, Peck, who was then living at the mobile home, allegedly provided heroin to Steve Miller, who was visiting, Hope said.

Miller used some heroin and then suffered a cardiac arrest, Hope said. The man was rushed to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center emergency room, where he was pronounced dead, Hope said, adding that the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office ruled Miller died of from “a mixed drug toxicity.”

At the time, Miller also had taken prescription drugs in addition to the heroin, Hope said.

Peck was described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with gray hair and green eyes, Hope said, adding that the man has ties in Clinton and Centre counties.

Anyone who has any information about Peck’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 570-329-4060.
