Injured crash victims remain hospitalized

All three women who were seriously injured late Wednesday afternoon in the two-vehicle head-on crash on Route 87 south of Barbours remained hospitalized Thursday night, according to state police.

Tammy Yourish, 40, of South Williamsport, was traveling south in a 2010 Toyota Rav 4 when her vehicle darted across the center line and into the northbound lane, colliding with a 2009 Hyuandai Sante Fe driven by Kristin Confer, 33, of Williamsport, about 4:45 p.m.

Both drivers were admitted to UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center with injuries, police said. Yourish was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Riding with Confer was her mother, Jean Confer, 63, of the same address, police said. Jean Confer was reported in critical condition in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, a nursing supervisor said.

The women’s seated positions in the vehicle were incorrectly reported in Thursday’s edition.
