Man accused of striking motel window, camera with pipe while high on meth

Williamsport resident Jared R. Blair, 38, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Monday at a motel around 2295 Lycoming Creek Road on charges of simple assault, criminal mischief, damage to real or personal property, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and possessing an instrument of crime with intent.

Old Lycoming Township Police were dispatched to the address for Blair who had allegedly possessed a pipe and assaulted a motel employee after consuming methamphetamine, according to a press release. As the township police arrived on the scene, Blair was seen swinging said pipe in the motel lobby.

Blair allegedly caused significant damage to the motel including attempting to break a lobby window, a surveillance camera and various other items on the property. After the consumption of methamphetamine, Blair allegedly said that he believed that his wife hired a hitman and that people were chasing and shooting after him according to court records.

Staff from the motel also stated that Blair entered the businesses with the pipe and pushed an employee.

Blair was arraigned in front of District Judge William Soloman and is prisoned in lieu of $20,000.
