Man allegedly causes ruckus at downtown bar

A city man allegedly left a downtown bar without paying and then when stopped by city police at another nearly bar he began to shout profanities, city police said.

Anthony F. Benson, 58, of 657 Campbell St. is charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and theft in an alleged incident at 224 W. Fourth St. on Aug. 30, police said.

Arraigned before District Judge Christian D. Frey, Benson was committed to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
