Man allegedly threatened to burn down charity

A city man allegedly threatened to hit people and to burn down American Rescue Workers, 643 Elmira St., shouting in the street in the 600 block of Elmira St., while also holding a broom, city police said.

George M. Flemming, 45, of 375 High St., is charged with terroristic threats and simple assault by city police in the incident at 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 31, police said.

Arraigned before District Judge Christian D. Frey, Flemming was committed to county prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
