Judge tosses several drug charges in city case

Following a preliminary hearing Tuesday, District Judge Christian Frey threw out six of 10 drug charges that were filed against Michael Miller III, 27, of Beauty’s Run Road, by city police.

The judge believed there was insufficient evidence to hold Miller on three counts each of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and possession of various controlled substances, including 12 ounces of cocaine, two ounces of methamphetamines and 130 marijuana cartridges.

However, Frey bound over three counts of conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver as well as one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

All 10 charges stemmed from an incident in the 600 block of Grier Street on July 11, police said. Miller remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $90,000 bail.
