Man allegedly assaults 69-year-old woman
On Thursday morning around 9:15 a.m., Old Lycoming Township police were called to 1916 Lycoming Creek Road after a report of a 69 year old female customer was assaulted by a 47 year old male customer according to a public release.
Eric Graham, who is accused of assaulting Ramona Dimassimo, had allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.
The two were grocery shopping when “Dimassimo had unintentionally run over Graham’s foot with her shopping cart,” the release said.
This accident then prompted Graham to violently punch Dimassimo in the face with a closed fist, according to the release.
Graham’s girlfriend was also at the scene, according to the report, and stayed with Dimassimo, telling Old Lycoming police that she didn’t know why “Graham would do such a thing.”
Dimassimo was transported to Williamsport Regional Medical Center ICU with a possibility of serious injuries, including brain bleeding and facial fractures.
She was later declared to be in stable condition, according to police.
Graham was found outside of his residence on Sixth Avenue in the city and taken into custody.
He is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering persons, disorderly conduct and harassment.
He was arraigned in front of Judge William Soloman and is jailed on $100,000 bail.
