Theft, animal neglect alleged in separate cases
In a court matter before District Judge Jerry Lepley, Jennifer Dawes, 45, of 37 Myers Run Road, Trout Run, waived her preliminary hearing on conspiracy charges to access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property.
The charges stem from an incident in mid-November 2018 when she allegedly conspired with Todd Hill, 46, of Jersey Shore, in illegally using another man’s credit card that the owner had misplaced at Sheetz on Route 220 in Woodward Township, state Trooper Michael App alleged in court papers.
Both Dawes and Hill have since waived their preliminary hearings and are free on bail.
In another case, Christi Bausinger, 47, of 4224 Route 87, Montoursville, waived her preliminary hearing to a misdemeanor charge of neglect of animals stemming from an incident at her home in late January, according to court records filed by the local chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The chapter alleges that Bausinger “failed to provide necessary veterinary care to a female mixed-breed dog named Molly while she had duty care” of the animal. Court records state the dog suffered from a poor skin condition. Bausinger is free on $5,000 bail.
