Woman accused of hiding fugitive
Lycoming County Prison inmate Demsey Long faces a new charge of hindering apprehension after allegedly hiding fugitive Tyler Wagner in her home on Old Glade Run Road in Muncy Creek Township in mid-April, according to state police.
Jailed on a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child since June 8, Long, 19, of 181 B Glade Run Road, Muncy, is accused hiding Wagner in her home when Trooper Nathan Birth came looking for him about 10:40 a.m. on April 17.
Wagner was wanted in connection with a a domestic assault case, and when Birth showed up at Long’s front door, she prevented him from entering, according to an affidavit. She told Birth that “Wagner walked from home and was not inside and was not inside,” but minutes later, Wagner was seen near the front of the interior of the house and taken into custody without incident.
For this incident, Long will be sent a summons to appear before District Judge Jon E. Kemp.
Long has been incarcerated in another case in which state police claim her allege drug use before and after the birth of her daughter contributed to the infant’s death at Long’s home back on April 19. In this case, she is jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
