Williamsport police responded to a reported shooting shortly after 6 p.m. Monday in the city’s East End.

One person was reportedly hit by gunfire at a residence at 941 Penn St., according to a report from the Lycoming County Communications 911 Center.

A neighborhood resident who lives a block from the shooting scene told the Sun-Gazette she heard four shots fired.

The victim is unknown.

Police cordoned off the shooting scene just south of St. John Neumann High School from traffic and passersby.

No other details were available at press time.
