Sunday-evening dryer fire leaves no one injured or displaced
A Sunday evening dryer fire at 450 Center St. caused little impact, according to the Williamsport Fire Bureau.
Nobody was injured or displaced as a consequence of the fire, which was reported at around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, according to Kevin Hurne, a platoon chief with the Fire Bureau.
“We removed the smoke from the building and checked to make sure everyone was okay,” Hurne said.
A fire platoon of seven, two fire engines, a tower and four off-duty firefighters, including Hurne, arrived at the scene and evacuated the building before it could be cleared in under an hour.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Hurne.
