Texas man charged in homicide of woman found along I-80
A Texas man allegedly shot a woman to death whose body was left along Interstate 80 near Milton, state police at Milton said.
Travey Ray Rollins Jr., 28, of Dallas, Texas, was charged in the homicide of Rebecca Landrith, 47, a resident of Virginia, said Trooper Tyler Watson.
Landrith’s body was found Sunday along Interstate 80. She was shot numerous time. She had ties to several states including South Dakota and Utah and was left along the off-ramp of mile marker 199 on the eastbound land of the interstate, Watson said.
Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing and has been updated to homicide but troopers offered no motive for the killing. Rollins is alleged to have shot the woman and has not pleaded guilty or been found guilty, police noted.
Landrith was a professional model and investigators believe she had traveled through the midwest last week.
Rollins faces charges of criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse, police said.
Rollins was apprehended was apprehended in Milldale, Connecticut by members of the Connecticut State Police and Pennsylvania State Police.
Rollins is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.
