Charges dropped in credit card case

All charges have been withdrawn against Craig Eck after the alleged victim in the case failed to appear for the 44-year-old man’s preliminary hearing, according to state police.

Police withdrew charges of theft and access device fraud at the office of District Judge William Solomon.

Police had accused Eck, of 315 Hoover Drive, of Cogan Station of allegedly trying to use a stolen credit card belonging to Earthworks at a Best Buy on Dec. 19, according to court records.

In another criminal matter before Solomon, state police withdrew one count of aggravated assault against William Masser, 21, of 656 Route 15, South Williamsport.

While the one felony charge was dropped, Masser waived his preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

All the charges stem from Masser allegedly harming a 3-month-old baby under his care at his Armstrong Township home between Nov. 13 and Nov. 16, according to court records. Masser is free on $99,000 bail.
