Ex-boyfriend charged with burglary, simple assault

Although his ex-girlfriend had filed a protection from abuse order against him, that did not deter Raymond Richards, 43, from allegedly forcing his way into the woman’s home on Lincoln Street twice during the early morning hours of Feb. 21, city police said.

On the first occasion, Richards kicked in front door and threatened to break the woman’s jaw, police alleged in court papers.

After briefly leaving Miranda Mistretta’s home at 2123 Lincoln St., Richards returned and again kicked in the door, police said, adding that this time he allegedly struck the woman several times in the face. He also demanded the woman’s cellphone and security camera, police said.

Richards, of 244 E. Church St., was arraigned last week before Frey on charges of burglary, felony trespassing and simple assault. Initially jailed, he has since been released on $35,000 bail.
