Old Lycoming Township crash claims one life
According to a news release from the Old Lycoming Police Department: “On Friday a single vehicle left the roadway while traveling North in the 2000 Block of Lycoming Creek Road. The vehicle left the roadway and drove through several yards before striking a business. An officer arrived on scene as this was happening and immediately began rendering aide to the occupants of the vehicle. Due to the impact, several airbags deployed. The Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company, UPMC Susquehanna and the DuBoistown Volunteer Fire Company assisted on scene.
Both occupants were treated by EMS and transported to UPMC Susquehanna for treatment. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries in the accident. The passenger of the vehicle suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident. The passenger was immediately transported to UPMC Susquehanna due to the injuries sustained. Shortly after arriving at the Hospital the passenger was pronounced deceased.
While officers were conducting their investigation, a vehicle proceeded through the clearly marked closed roadway. The driver of this vehicle drove past several Fire Police Officers as well. The driver then became upset and caused a disturbance in the Rite Aid parking lot on Lycoming Creek Road. Several officers then had to assist the officer who made the traffic stop on this male due to his behavior.”
