Man found dead Sunday after a one-vehicle crash has been identified

JERSEY SHORE — The driver who was found dead in his overturned pickup truck in a ditch along Spook Hollow Road just before 9 a.m. Sunday has been identified as Reynold Snyder II, 67, of Linden, according to the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office.

Snyder lived a quarter mile north of the crash scene, investigators said.

It appeared that he likely suffered a medical episode behind the wheel as he was traveling north on the two-lane road, investigators said, adding that there were no visible signs of serious traumatic injuries to his body.

He was wearing a seat belt when his truck went off the road, down a slight embankment, landing on its passenger side, according to investigators.

“A lot of things are still a mystery,” a patrol supervisor with the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police said late Monday afternoon. Investigators do not know where he was coming from, but it did appear that he was likely heading home since he lived a quarter mile north of the crash scene.

The coroner’s office recovered his cellphone, and the last time it was used was about 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
