City woman charged with conspiracy

A former clerk at the Unimart, 1944 W. Fourth St., has been charged with conspiracy to theft and conspiracy to shoplifting for her alleged involvement in a scheme to allow a customer to steal lottery tickets from the store in late May, city police said in court papers at the office of District Judge Christian Frey.

Vicki Lynn Cowher, 42, of 2122 Lincoln St., conspired with Nathan Pralour who walked into the store and removed in excess of $400 worth of lottery tickets on two consecutive days when Cowher was working at the store, police alleged. She intentionally went to the back of the store or to the restroom when Pralour walked into the store, police said, adding the two are friends. Pralour was charged earlier this year and has since waived his preliminary hearing on theft charges. Cowher has been sent a summons to appear before the judge.
