Driver charged with DUI

Arriving in the 100 block of Maynard Street to investigate a report of a person acting suspiciously about 3:30 a.m. on May 30, city police questioned Aurianna Lowmiller, of 1551 Memorial Ave., an intoxcicated woman sitting against a fence, according to an affidavit.

It turned out that the 20-year-old woman had abandoned her Hyundai after it became disabled on a Maynard Street off-ramp of Interstate 180, police said. “She had a distinct strong smell of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. Her eyes were glossy,” an officer said in the court document. She she refused to undergo a series fields sobriety tests, Lowmiller consented to provide a blood sample that revealed she had a blood-alcohol concentration level of .20 at the time. Charged with DUI and underage drinking, Lowmiller, who has since turned 21, has been sent a summons to appear before Frey.
